Spain means tapas, late nights and lots of passion.
From Barcelona to Madrid, to Bilbao and Sevilla, there are many very different places to visit. Whether you come for art, culture, food, or wine, the options are incredible. The biggest challenge is deciding which sites to visit.
Not many people in Spain speak fluent English so that it can be a challenging country for first-time visitors to Europe. If it is your first time, Barcelona and Madrid are likely going to be the most comfortable places to visit. If you have traveled to Europe before, particularly Italy, Greece, and Portugal, you will find this country to be very enchanting with much to offer.
The time needed: To visit one or two major cities, we recommend at least six nights due to the long flight (8 hours from NYC) and the considerable time difference. If you wish to tour Spain, you should allow for at least ten days.
Budgeting: A 10-day vacation to Spain for 2, including Coach class airfare, 4* hotels, local transfers, and some tours starts at about $6,000
Combination countries: Spain is best combined with Portugal
Movies to watch before heading to Spain:
• Vicky Cristina Barcelona
• Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown
• The Spanish Apartment
